Windows Collector 6.1.X Release Notes

Software Requirements

Supported operating systems

Desktop

  • Windows 7 - 32 and 64 bits
  • Windows 8 and 8.1 - 32 and 64 bits
  • Windows 10 - 32 and 64 bits

Server

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 - 64 bits
  • Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 - 64 bits

Note that Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 are no longer supported.

Pre-requisites

  • UDP communication must be allowed between the targeted device and the Engine.
  • To install the Updater or the Collector using their MSI, the Windows installer (msiexec) version 3.0 or higher is required.

Nexthink dependency matrix

The latest Engine is always compatible with the latest version of Collector and with all its previous versions. If you want to upgrade to the latest release of the Collector, we encourage you to upgrade your Engines first.

  • [CLT-2100] - Fix in collector to restore the previous state of collector if upgrade to it fails for some reason.
  • [CLT-2103] - Fix for a error message while generating collector installer via installer generator.
  • [CLT-2140] - Security related fix w.r.t secured pipes.
  • [CLT-2135] [CLT-2070] - Fix for registry path of Windows Firewall policies in Collector and NxtReporter.

  • Increase the size of the Collector Tag to accept values from 0 to ~2 billion. (Maximum value: 2^31 - 1 = 2'147'483'647).
